Editorial Guidelines & Prompt Evaluation Methodology
At Prompt Vault, quality is not subjective — it is measured. Every prompt in our free library passes
through a documented, multi-stage evaluation process before publication. This is what separates a
curated prompt library for image generation from a random collection of screenshots.
Stage 1 — Prompt Drafting
- The lead prompt engineer drafts an initial prompt hypothesis
- Target style, subject, lighting, and composition goals are defined upfront
- Engine-specific parameters (e.g., aspect ratio, stylize values, model version) are pre-set
Stage 2 — Multi-Engine Testing
Each candidate prompt is tested across at least two of the following engines: – Midjourney (latest
stable model) – Flux (developer and pro variants) – Ideogram (for typography-integrated prompts) –
Video diffusion engines (for motion prompts)
We record which engines produce the intended output and which require adjustment.
Stage 3 — Reproducibility Check
A second team member re-runs the prompt from a clean session. If the output is not reproducible within
a reasonable variance, the prompt is revised or rejected. A prompt that only works “sometimes” does
not ship.
Stage 4 — Aesthetic & Compositional Review
Reviewed against enterprise criteria: – Composition — balance, focal hierarchy, negative space –
Lighting fidelity — realism or intentional stylization – Color harmony — palette coherence – Detail
integrity — no obvious artifact failure (broken hands, warped text, etc.) – Style consistency — output
matches the promised aesthetic category
Stage 5 — Metadata & Categorization
Approved prompts receive: – Descriptive title – Category and sub-category tags – Engine compatibility
notes – Recommended parameters – SEO-friendly alt text – Clear licensing label
Stage 6 — Publication
Only prompts passing all five prior stages are published. Rejected prompts are archived with notes for
future iteration.
Continuous Quality Assurance
- Reader feedback is monitored and used to flag outdated prompts
- When model versions update (e.g., Midjourney v-releases), affected prompts are re-tested
- Deprecated prompts are clearly marked
Editorial Independence
Prompt Vault does not accept payment to feature specific prompts, styles, or brands within its free
library. Sponsored content, when it exists, is clearly labeled.
